All I Could Do Was Cry #21
This is by far my favourite Etta James song, At Last is a classic but anyone who’s ever had their heartbroken will instantly identify with this song. Its been on in my car all week and I felt it was only fitting to put it on my blog due to Etta James’ recent passing.
I went through a period of listening to this song on repeat in my second year of uni after seeing Cadillac Records, if you’ve never seen it, it’s a brilliant film about the artists signed to Chess Records. The cast make the film, mainly Adrien Brody and of course, Beyonce as Etta James.
